Commuting In Crystal City

Car

If you are looking to drive into Crystal City there are several major roadways right around the area. From Springfield, 395 provides a straight shot into the area. If your in Alexandria, Route 1 will take you straight into the city. If you are looking for a more scenic drive to work, the GW Parkway is a beautiful drive right along the Potomac River, overlooking the DC monuments.

Trains

For easy commuting within the DMV, the Metro lines can take you almost anywhere. The Yellow and Blue line stop right in Pentagon City, Crystal City, and Reagan National Airport. These lines provide easy connections to the other 4 metro lines as well.
The VRE, Virginia Railway Express, extends from Union Station down to Broad Run (Red line) and Spotsylvania (Blue line). Both the red and blue line stop in Crystal City giving you the ability to live further out from the city and still have an easy commute to and from work each day.

Amtrak has many stops around the DMV. The two most convenient to Crystal City being Alexandria and Union Station. Alexandria is two metro stops down from Crystal City, Union Station is two stops over after a transfer to the red line.

Looking to fly in or out of DC?

Reagan National Airport is right in Crystal City. Its only one stop from the Crystal City metro station. A commuter bridge from Crystal City to Reagan National will be built in the next few years as Amazon moves into the area.

Dulles International Airport is about 30 minutes outside of Crystal City if you are looking for an overseas flight. The Metro’s silver line is currently under construction to extend out to Dulles Airport with opening set for 2020.
